Bell Ringer: Review with a partner

1. Definition of mood
2. List the different ways an author can create mood?
3. List the different ways an artist/photographer can create mood?
4. What are the three ways a picture can be used (the 3 E’s)?
What are the four purposes a photo may serve (your connection to writing)?

Task 1: Go to my wiki, click on Stirring Up Justice page, then click on Visual Literacy, and then select flashcard practice. You can use these to review their answers for the bell ringer and to use to study for the quiz that will be in on Friday. They can click on the variety of ways to practice/study.

Task 2: Return to home page of the wiki. From here they will need to click on Stirring Up Justice, and then click on SUJ : One Step at a Time. Click on “Are you Ready?” Download this form to Google Docs and then answer the questions. They should share this document with me and save it as Last name CA 8. ___ Are You Ready? (about 20 minutes)

Task 3: Review the “Introducing the Glossary” words (on my wiki on visual literacy page and on your note sheet). Write two sentences about their photo using 2 of the words from the glossary - in your note sheet.

Task 4: (from sub plans)

If there is time… have students take out their picture (the one you brought from home – 1 student left his/her photo with me on the podium)) and tell me the story the picture tells. (10 minutes) Then look at the picture and tell me what you think other people will see.
Type this in Google Docs (title it – PerPics 2)
